The Harvard Divinity School and Harambee, an organization for students of African descent, presented “The Hip-Hop and Religion Forum” as its final event to celebrate Black History Month. Six panelists from Islamic and Christian backgrounds discussed the effect of hip-hop on youth culture and perspectives on hip-hop varied from critical to enthusiastically supportive.

Christian disc jockey DJ Lady Grace opened the panel with a rap rhyme from Christian rap artist Corey Red to demonstrate her theory that musicians today should not do both religious and secular songs, because the genres convey contradictory messages.
