Syntax Records partners with KOCH
KOCH is pleased to announce that is has expanded its music label roster with the signing of an exclusive distribution deal with Syntax Records. “We’re very excited to add Syntax Records to our distribution roster. This will further consolidate Koch’s position as the leading distributor for true independent labels,” commented Michael Rosenberg, President of KOCH Entertainment Distribution.
Based in San Diego California, Syntax Records by brothers Steve & Tim Trudeau in 1999 while having trouble finding a record label that would take a chance on their quirky hip-hop group Sackcloth Fashion. The label would end up independently selling over 40,000 units of Sackcloth Fashion.
In 2007 Syntax Records will be putting out its most anticipated line up ever including Hawthorne’s Most Wanted, the third studio album from indigenous emcee RedCloud featuring multi-platinum artists Kurupt from the Dog Pound & Jayo Felony, reggae legend Eek-a-mouse, Gospel superstar Tonex, and underground favorites like Pigeon John, Def Shepard, and Visionaries. You can also expect the third Night Owls compilation.
In addition to the Syntax Records roster (Sackcloth Fashion, RedCloud, Man of War, DJ Wise, Shane Newville, DJ Promote, and Kaboose) Syntax will be partnering with other labels to release key recordings. Labels such as Nureau Ink, LLC owned and operated by Grammy Nominated, Gold Recording artist Tonex as well as the newly formed Up At Nite Records. Up At Nite Records was started by Chris Spano and Aaron Diello who are also the founders of the west coast’s fastest growing alternative Christian music festival JoshuaFest.
