I have got to tell you Are We There Yet? (Reuben’s label debut) was my first venture into the Christian market. So I have been a big fan and looked forward to this release for some time. When I put the disc in for my first listen I was instantly immersed in the insanity that is our good friend John Reuben . Though the first couple times through was a grand trip through John’s brain and was good, but really did not come close to the party feel and experience of Are We There Yet? After about a month of rotation Hindsight became a classic. It has a good versatility of styles and takes you all across the hip hop map. Reuben has found a good balance between mainstream appeal while still keeping his beliefs in tact. I was defiantly feeling the signature Todd Collins production, which in itself is a thing of beauty. (GRITS, KJ-52, Dj Maj, TobyMac, Verbs) Guest track-master Flynn of the world famous LA Symphony also lends his talent by making the beat for “Doin’” the biggest hit on the album. “Thank You” with Othello and manCHILD really showcased the (lesser known) lyrical masterminds talent, and really would catch people’s interest to look for Loqiue and Mars Ill’ s releases. Not only do I own this album but have bought it multiple times as a gift. Bottom line Hindsight is a must have.
