Staring at the cocaine in his hand while his mother prayed over him was a defining moment in Quincy Jones' life. Only a few days earlier, the 21-year-old was confronted with his need for a savior and put his faith in Jesus Christ. Now, he faced a dilemma: Sell the last bit of his cocaine in order to pay his bills or flush it down the toilet and trust God to provide.

After her prayer, his mother said, "Quincy, you need to throw that away for all that the Lord has done for you and how He has protected you." In that decisive moment, he surrendered everything to God, turning completely from his former life of dealing and using drugs. A friend began to disciple him and helped him get involved in ministering to young people in the Washington, D.C., area. Add a comment

Ambassador @ Flavor Fest 2007

As teaching pastor of Epiphany Fellowship Church in inner-city Philadelphia, William "Duce" Branch also is a Christian rap artist. The group he co-founded, The Cross Movement, has received two Grammy nominations.

Today's teaching pastor, however, was yesterday's street kid. Having spent most of his teen years away from God, Branch abandoned the evils of Hip-hop culture but not the call to evangelize it.

According to "The Charleston Gazette" KJ-52 has sold more than half a million copies of his last album "The Yearbook."

ImageThis is a mistake, "The Yearbook" has only sold according to the last soundscan report almost 50,000 copies. KJ-52 has surely sold over half a million records  during his carreer. Who ever wrote the article at the Gazette should check their facts before promoting an upcoming KJ-52 show wrong.

Half a million for one album, I don't believe that has ever been reached for a Christian Hip Hop album. If you count Toby Mac as "Hip Hop" then yes it has been reached, but that day has not yet come...

The new chip that will let an iPod store 500,000 songs!

Mobile phones, iPods and other consumer devices may soon be able to hold a hundred times more information than they do at present thanks to a breakthrough in storage technology.

Scientists at IBM say they have developed a new type of digital storage which would enable a device such as an MP3 player to store about half a million songs - or 3,500 films - and cost far less to produce.

Lecrae is asking for prayer because he's working on a new album! "Pray that it would TRULY be used to deeply impact lives for the cause of Christ" says Lecrae. The album is now officially titled "REBEL". Lecrae wants "people to see that term though biblical lenses. Turning our back on Postmodernity, secular humanism, sinful elements of popular culture, and sexual perversity. Now pray that again!"

The album will release September 30 2008.

There's a movie in the making about the story of Nicky Cruz, called "Run Baby Run."

Based on a true story, Run Baby Run, is legendary throughout the world for its compelling and honest message of life on the streets. It’s a story of survival, fear and the matchless power of love.

In 1938, Nicky Cruz was born in the countryside of Puerto Rico. Brought up in a spiritual nightmare of witchcraft and brutality, he screamed out his aggression all the way to the streets of New York City. Now in 1958, a time when teens dance the jitterbug, and the city swells with clashing cultures, Nicky stands alone in this concrete jungle. Seduced by the power of gangs, he joins for his own protection and a sense of identity. Nicky quickly becomes the most vicious and feared gang warlord of them all. But just as he reaches the height of his fame, his personal battles bring him to his knees.

Tammy Taylor said some of the most popular Christian ringtones are songs by rap artists. Taylor is with www.ringspirations.com, a site that offers religious ringtones.

Some of the more popular artists include Cross Movement, Flame and Da'T.R.U.T.H., Taylor said.

"As people are finding out about the site, we've noticed the main sellers are Christian rap and rock artists, praise and worship music and your hymns," she said.
