Spotify and Apple Music Upgrades for Artists #ArtistTip

Spotify and Apple Music are finally further streamlining their platforms when it comes to helping artists use these streaming services to maximize capabilities as an entertainer.

Starting with Spotify, artists can now customize their profile pages with pictures and add social media links to their bio. This is something Mogli the Iceburg clamored for in the article he wrote for Rapzilla.

“Here at Spotify, we know that music may be the main thing, but it’s not the only thing – there are all kinds of ways for artists to share who they are with their fans. We want to make it as easy as possible for them to do so… Our goal with Spotify for Artists is to make it easy for you to control how you’re represented in Spotify – whenever you want, from wherever you are,” from Spotify.

In fact, Spotify is enabling artists to add up to 125 images as sort of a photo feed of what’s going on in their career.

As for the social links, artists can add Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Wikipedia. However, these options are only for the browser version so far.

Apple Music, on the other hand, had been beta testing a better artist platform by letting a few 1,000 artists use it. Now, full artist dashboard is available for more artists and supposedly everyone by Spring. An artist can sign up for it here.

“Everything you need to understand your music’s impact across Apple Music and iTunes,” from Apple.

In other words, now an artist can track an in-depth set of analytics that show the location of listeners, impact, and all-time numbers. Financial numbers are also promised for the future.

So what do you think artists? Will you be signing up and taking advantage of these services?
