Lecrae’s next album will follow upcoming book, of which he reveals details

Lecrae will not release his eighth studio album until his first book is published, according to a press release from B&H Publishing Group, which announced it has signed him to a book deal.

The press release stated the book will “precede his next major album release,” which does not necessarily close the door on a Church Clothes 3.

Lecrae’s book will be titled Unashamed and published in May 2016. A multi-city media and promotional tour will accompany the release. His next LP will drop later in 2016.

“I am writing Unashamed for all those who don’t know who they are, who feel confined by the labels given to them,” Lecrae said. “This is for the outsiders looking for peace within.

“As an artist, my ambition is to make honest music, and I feel the same way about writing this book. I want to be honest about where I’ve come from and what I’ve learned along the way. I want to influence culture, to help catalyze and inspire, and help other people find understanding. If they find some inspiration and some clarity for their own lives, as they follow my journey, then I will have succeeded.”
