Joey "Knucklehead" Turman partnered with theBREAX to create and release an official song to go with his newest dance creation, the "Toe Tappy."
Coca Cola's "Make it Possible" project invited choreographers from around the world to submit their very own dance innovations. Knucklehead's side-to-side, toe-tapping dance was selected as the winner from among hundreds of submissions around the world.
Since being selected as the winner, Knucklehead and Coke Zero have been taking the Toe Tappy to people around the world. The dance has gained fans from all corners of the globe, with hundreds of video submissions on YouTube of people doing the Toe Tappy.
Knucklehead decided it was time to give the dance its very own soundtrack, so he partnered with Southern California hip-hop crew, theBREAX, to create an official song. Knucklehead and emcees Ruslan and Beleaf of theBREAX put their artistry to work to create something that represents the dance. The result is "Toe-Tappy," a hard-hitting, catchy track that captures the energy and emotion of a dance that Knucklehead describes as a "victory dance."
"I created the Toe Tappy as a way for people to express joy and celebrate the good things that happen in their lives," says Knucklehead. "I knew that theBREAX could capture that emotion and put it in a song," he added.
"We wanted to do the dance justice with the track," says Ruslan of theBREAX. "the Toe Tappy is about celebrating the victories in your life, so we made sure we created a track that captured that feeling of winning and celebration."
Knucklehead and theBREAX both hail from San Diego county. Knucklehead competed on the 6th season of MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew" with dance crew, Street Kingdom. theBREAX are coming off of their first full-length album release, "Never Arrive," which debuted at #3 on the iTunes Hip-Hop charts.
