Rapzilla spoke to Hilary Pradia at SXSW where she spoke about her new EP Pretty Night, breaking into Christian hip-hop, and the “Pretty Girl Anthem.”
“Pretty Night is an evolution. It’s a transition of me identifying the sin issues I had in my life,” she shared. “Being a Christian sometimes is a struggle. It’s not a cake walk.”
The album looks to convey her Christianity in an honest way that touches on all aspects of her Christianity.

“Women in Christian hip-hop, there’s not really a voice for us,” Pradia said. “I just wanted to make sure that I made music that kind of spoke to us in a way. I feel like it’s really empowering and it really defines who we are as women of God.”

Pradia then revealed that she started in music as an R&B artist, and God began to work in her life. After she received a prophecy over her life, she put singing behind her a bit, and started rapping.
After series of almost career transitions, Pradia began to get the bug again, and God started pointing her in the musical direction again.
