Ty Brasel Says New EP Focuses on Grace; Talks ‘Ali’ & ‘Novocain’

Ty Brasel spoke to Rapzilla at SXSW about his new music, the unreleased track “Novocain,” and the song “Ali.”

“The new music is going to be a lot of growth for me in all areas of my life, especially musically,” said Brasel. “Growth as a person makes so much difference in your music.”

He said it will be an EP, and the theme of it focuses on grace.

Brasel then spoke about the song “Ali” and explained it was about battling with “insecurities and self-doubt.”

The emcee feels like he “accomplished” what he was trying to do with the track.

There are boxers and minor league baseball players who use his theme and want him to perform it.

He then spoke about his unreleased song “Novocain.” The song focuses on depression and us trying to overcome it.

“What I’m trying to do is help people walk out of that,” he shared. “Let people know that there is hope, this is not the end.”
