Tre9 spoke to Rapzilla at SXSW about ministry, music, and mentoring PyRexx.
He shared that in 2008 “God gave me a strong conviction about making disciples.” He said instead of just leading people to Christ, he wanted to follow up with these people and help them grow in Jesus.
Tre9 said he’s retired from rapping, and now is fully focused on his ministry.

Tre9 then spoke about meeting PyRexx while he was ministering in prison. He wrote him a letter, and that process has helped PyRexx continue on to make disciples.
“He’s the director of Disciple the Streets,” said Tre9 of his ministry.
Tre said the real test is seeing PyRexx go back out in the streets and with standing previous temptation. So far, he’s passed every test, and even though there have been “hiccups,” PyRexx is battle tested and true.
“PyRexx has had several opportunities to fail,” said Tre9. “By me observing his relationship with his wife, seeing how he father’s his child…it was evident that this guy was in. In it to the death.”
