Bryann Trejo Shares How Tragedy Turned Him to Christian Rap

Christian rapper Bryann Trejo spoke to Rapzilla at SXSW about how he started in Christian rap, his new record, and spit a verse.

Trejo said he used to do music that “glorified the world.” When his brother was killed, he wanted to stop music until “God put a new song on my heart.”

“I’m not looking for anyone to co-sign us, I just want God to promote us,” he said.

He has a new record coming out called Kingdom Palms: Songs of Deliverance, and the album is gospel rap. Trejo is using the songs to just worship God through hip-hop.
