Rapzilla interviewed several artists this year at South by Southwest (SXSW) about why they attend the annual event in Austin, Texas, and their answers suggest that all artists should make the trip.
“To me, if you’re serious about music, you’re here,” Toronto-based artist Promise said, “unless you’re doing something serious elsewhere — if you have a tour, you have something else going on, that’s different. But if you’re at home, and South by’s going on, I don’t know how serious you are because everyone who’s serious about this stuff — technology, music and all that inhabits the media — is here.
“So you come here and you build relationships, get charged up, get ideas, get inspired and carry that throughout the rest of the year.”
