Aaron Cole, a 16-year-old rapper/singer who Rapzilla had recently named to its 2016 Freshman class, said in an interview that “new label ventures” are in his near future.
“I got a new situation that’s going to be dropping soon, so be on the lookout for that,” he said. “But I’m working. I’m working on new music. I got like 20-30 songs just ready to go, so some stuff is about to happen, and I’m grateful and humbled about the opportunities.”
Cole had previously been signed to Da’ T.R.U.T.H.’s record label, Mixed Bag Entertainment. The teen also talked about how he’s still on good terms with his former boss, as well as what he learned from the label shuffle.
“One thing that I really learned about in like CHH period is I don’t need to put my trust in artists. I need to put my trust in God,” Cole said. “I used to put artists higher than what they were, ’cause you know, like a young kid coming up, T.R.U.T.H., and [Lecrae] and everybody was like everything to me … I learned not to value their opinion more than I value God’s opinion.”
