The 2013 BET Awards Nominations have been announced, and it should come as no surprise to anyone that the Gospel category will include an artist with unique “church clothes”. Following his Best Gospel Album GRAMMY win earlier this year, Lecrae has once again been nominated in a major awards Gospel category. This time it’s for Best Gospel Artist in a category filled with household names in the Gospel Music realm. The other nominees are Deitrick Haddon, Tamela Mann, Mary Mary and Marvin Sapp. This is Lecrae’s first BET award nomination and only the second time that a rapper has been nominated for this award. The first? Some guy named Kanye West in 2005.
