Free Download: Bizzle – Hood Cries: Unjust Scales 2

Bizzle had this to say about the situation in Ferguson, “I believe it’s a set up… I believe the event and everything about it was real. But, the rate at which we are being shown racial injustice on our news feeds (from news channels we don’t even have in our areas) has increased over the last few months. It started soon after it was discovered that Facebook had been running an experiment to see if they could pretty much control our emotions by what they showed us on our news feeds. BUT police brutality is not something new. It’s just that it’s been shown more often lately, not to shed light, but cause division. But the divide does not come because of the actual brutality, but because the responses to the injustice are different.

Many of you look at this ONE CASE & say “you don’t have the full story”. But this isn’t about one case. This is about John Crawford the week before that….and Eric Garner the week before that, etc. A lot of us have experienced it in our lives and seen it done to our families. And people are tired of having their REALITY brushed off as merely a figment of their imagination. And me, being someone who has dropped COUNTLESS “Hood Discipline” songs directed toward the black community (Chiraq, Unjust Scales, Gotta Seek Change, Think 4 A Minute, etc.); I’ve seen the way blacks & whites both respond to it in agreement. No debates or arguments. It causes no “division”. No one says “you don’t know their whole story of their poverty and affliction”. We all realize that though it’s not the WHOLE black community, we all know people who it applies to, so no one defends. BUT anytime I have EVER posted on racially sensitive topics, then “division” happens. Hearts are exposed, as I am “unfollowed”, my ability to see clearly is questioned, and my motives all of a sudden are questioned by people who have up until this point believed me to be all about truth & justice.

I see some of the most insensitive responses as I’m sure you all have. I see the tendency to defend & deflect while showing no compassion whatsoever. And THAT’S where division happens, as my request that people would simply “mourn with those who mourn” FIRST, is rejected. But today I will release a record that speaks up for those who’s cries have been ignored. It will be UNJUST SCALES PT. 2, and we will see how those who cheered on PT. 1 react when the target changes. Let’s see if you are able to say “I know It doesn’t apply to all white people, but I do know people who it applies to”. Because in order to keep telling me “We are one in CHRIST”, your response shouldn’t change every time the race in question does. I’m prepared to lose fans & whatever else may come. But until these conversations can be had among those who are commanded to love, then what’s “ignored and swept under the rug” for one group will remain a “burden & reality” in the lives of the other. If the world can do it, we as believers should be able to.”
