Say Goodbye to “Music Meets the Truth” 2010

This is probably going to come as a big disappointment, especially if you’re one of the tens-of-thousands of fans who have enjoyed Beat Lab 7 Productionz’ finest albums which releases annually AND is totally FREE OF CHARGE. Over the past 3 years, Beat Lab 7 producers Crucial and s.a.i.n.t. jon have put out one of the industry’s most downloaded compilations. Their very first (2007) installment of the “Music Meets the Truth” compilation has (to date) been downloaded by over 30,000 people. And already, their 2009 compilation (which was released just 6 months ago), has been downloaded by over 20,000 people who are probably going to start a riot when they figure out this annual treat is about to come to a “close” for now.

So here’s the long-in-short: There will be no “Music Meets the Truth” 2010.

Obviously the first question to ask here is “Why”? Trust me, we’re asking the SAME THING. Why, when Beat Lab 7 Productionz has built up so much momentum with this highly acclaimed album, would they just “drop the ball” and bring everything to a dead halt? I mean, come on guys; you’re ministering to people worldwide through some BANGIN’ music featuring heavy-hitters such as Braille, K-Drama, JAZ, D-Maub, Minister RMB, Urban D and Tre9; not to mention that you’re drawing in more and more listeners to this ever-pioneering industry and even getting MAD EXPOSURE for your own beat-making skills (considering every single beat you hear on the “Music Meets the Truth” compilations were completely designed and engineered by Beat Lab 7). Am I missing something here? Am I the only one who thinks this is NOT the time to stop producing this annually anticipated album that seems to have won the hearts of so many!?

Well no matter what I think, the decision has been made; the line has been drawn. The cows have come home; and you might even wonder if Hell has finally frozen over (though there’s absolutely no where in scripture to actually back that up).

Apparently Jonathan Hosey (aka “s.a.i.n.t. jon”) has decided (with much regret) to leave Beat Lab 7 Productionz in pursuit of other things. This of course, leaves Matthew Slyman (better known as “Crucial”) with a great responsibility that was originally designed for two or more people to handle. There’s absolutely NO BEEF involved with this separation. Saint Jon has just felt called away by the Lord to do something different for a season or two and he very well may be back on board with Beat Lab 7 Productionz some time down the road. For now, Crucial is going to restructure the company and temporarily cancel some ventures (i.e. the annual “Music Meets the Truth” album) until he is able to find some good producers to bring on board.

The good news is that Crucial will still be making TIGHT BEATS for all you artists out there who are looking for good production. Beat Lab 7 itself will continue to thrive as a great source of production for all artists in ministry and it’s very possible that “Music Meets the Truth” will be back in the works for a 2011 release. So keep your eyes peeled and your ears to the ground cuz there is still much more to come from this ever-growing production company. In the mean time, s.a.i.n.t. jon will be getting rid of the rest of his beats at “liquidation” prices. Right now you can pretty much “name your price” for the rest of what you hear in the Beat Lab 7 Audio Laboratory (from s.a.i.n.t. jon, that is). Just go to www.beatlab7.com/audiolab.php and check it out for yourself. And keep these guys lifted in prayer. They’ve helped to pioneer a lot of ground in this industry and we’re excited to see what they do in the future!
